Anyone with a GPS unit can participate in GPS Day. It's simple, meaningful, and fun. Simply enter your GPS observation information here.
Getting involved can also be as easy as hosting a presentation at your work or a local school, or proclaiming GPS Day in your city, town, or county.
GPS Day is a great opportunity to gather data and increase public awareness of the surveying profession. It also provides a forum for teaching others about the significant contribution GPS is making in their lives and communities each day. Those new to GPS and the surveying profession will have an opportunity to observe local surveyors in action and learn more about the importance of the profession. This event will also serve to help the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) department update description information in its nationwide monument dataset. Anyone with a GPS unit (hand-held or otherwise) is welcome to join in the fun.
