GPS Day attracts geocachers and surveyors alike to participate in one of the largest, simultaneous collections of GPS data at sites throughout the United States.
GPS Day will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
This is our day, GPS fans! We can show off the real-world applications and mainstream capabilities of GPS measurement while we raise awareness for the profession of land surveying.
Land surveyors were among the first adopters of GPS technology, and have used GPS for more than 20 years.
GPS Day is part of National Surveyors Week, an initiative focused on key educational achievements and land survey awareness. National Surveyors Week is hosted by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and state surveying societies across the country.
NSPS encourages land surveyors to promote their profession to students and members of the general public. Check out the National Society of Professional Surveyors website for information geared toward middle- and high-school students.
