GPS Day attracts geocachers and surveyors alike to participate in one of the largest, simultaneous collections of GPS data at sites throughout the United States.
The event aims to the demonstrate real-world applications and mainstream capabilities of GPS measurement while bringing awareness to the profession of land surveying.
Surveyors were among the first adopters of GPS technology, and have used GPS for more than 20 years.
GPS Day is part of the National Surveyors Week, an initiative encompassing key educational achievements and Land Survey awareness.
GPS Day will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012
